I have used XnViewMP and XnConvert and I love the auto levels and auto contrast

On facebook I have been bombarded with adds for Photolemur 3 so I downloaded a demo copy so I could she how it did against XnvViewMP/Convert

I was really supersized to see that Photolemur adjusted the color and lighting much better than XnView/Convert

XnViewMP or XnConvert was real close but ...

If I use levels and I putz with the sliders I can get the photo just as good as Photolemur. How can I make the auto level/contrast work better

You can't. Only Pierre can do it. ...but be advised: an "Auto" algorithm has different compromises. I wouldn't blindly rely on it for a large batch of photos.

I do and have used it blindly in batch and for the most part I've been lucky but you are correct it may not be the best choice. - I am impressed with this Photolemur I wonder if it could be used as a plugin to Xn.... I know that it works as a plugin with lightroom and photoshop

In XnView double-click on a photo.

Then go to Image \ Adobe Photoshop Plugin... and press "Configure" to add it.

It would be a very, very, very nice thing to have it in Batch Convert tho.

Photolemur has an install option off their menu so I'm not sure what they are doing to get it into lightroom or photoshop

I will say that Photolemur seemed pretty slick and worked well with the dark or over exposed photos I tested with

I'll toy around with what you suggested and see if I can figure it out - I don't have lightroom or photoshop

OK so Photolemur has .8bf file So I guess it can be added to XnViewMP but as you said can it also be added to XnConvert and if how

No, It cannot be added to Batch Convert (inside or outside of XnView) and I think that is a little bit difficult to add - because 8bf is a black box for the host (XnView that is). You certainly don't want to have the dialog with settings popping up for each image. (disclaimer: perhaps Photolemur doesn't have any settings but we must consider the general case).

In fact the user wants to have the settings dialog displayed at the beginning once, settings stored somewhere/somehow and the filter to be applied for each image with the settings chosen at the beginning. Very hard to do (read: impossible) since Pierre doesn't have any control on 8bf files. Dunno if there are some settings protocol in 8bf communication flow and if the filters are obeying to this part.

Thanks for the reply. Photolemur does have some settings and it will "batch" files so I guess it'll have to be a two step process 1. Lemur it and the 2. XnConvert it.

I was using XnConvert to do: auto levels, auto contrast, add text and export my photos to another directory. I guess I should ask the Photolemur folks to add text options

Perhaps Pierre will improve Xn--- and I won't need lemur. The post from XnTriq was interesting and but way above my head.
