displaying file time in Linux

Post by silvain »

I am discovering a strange behaviour of XnView explorer in Linux :
  • Having copied images from my smartphone (with a cable), the file time is preserved in the copy (which would not be the case if copying through a utility using an internet connexion).
  • But XnView displays the ctime of the files instead of the mtime (although it does display the correct time from the Exif information).
  • This seems to be a bug, as the ctime reflects the time the files were copied, not the initial time of the files themselves. Xnview should display the mtime, as does any file explorer or ls command.
