Extremely slow renaming

Post by elfroggio »

XN 0.87 on manjaro (up to date) on AMD 8350 (8 cores), 12Gb RAM.
  • Filter by images only
  • Select fileS to be renamed (a dozen)
  • Ctrl-F2 to rename them all according to the pattern
It takes between 2 and 3 minutes with 1 CPU being maxed out at 100% (no swap involved), then eventually I get the rename screen, do my stuff and the actual renaming is almost instant.

The more files I select, the longer the time. Once it took more than 1/2hr when selecting hundredS of images (slightly under a thousand)

Before, on 0.86, I didn't have any problem with the renaming speed or otherwise.

Any suggestion on setting and/or what to look for?

Thanks

Yes, raw but...

0.85, 0.86 didn't have this problem. It was taking a few seconds while 0.87 takes minuteS depending on the number of images.
