Tapatalk as mobile app works beautifully, it gives me the possibility to continue participate in my favourite internet forums without needs to sit in front of the PC, I can easily use it in my spare time anywhere. Another big plus is ergonomic UI, easy navigation, I can focus just on information content, not ads, not ballast. I can browse and read through my favorite forums in less time. I prefer Tapatalk way before PC way most of forum spent time.
> The free version add Ads
No, the plugin itself is free to forum owners. If you mean Viglink - it can be turned off by forum owner. Users need to purchase the mobile app via the appropriate market for the device, that is true, but for me it were the best spent money ever for mobile app. Approx 30000 forums is Tapatalk enabled now.

Re: Tapatalk
please do NOT add it.
it's a piece of rubbish that pops up an annoying message to EVERY android users bugging them to install the app.
The app costs money, I'm NOT going to install it. But EVERY time it bugs me.
I looked at the preview but see NO benefit in it at all. Yes maybe when everyone owned 320x240 devices it would be useful, but modern mobile devices are capable of displaying the full forum with NO issues at all.

Re: Tapatalk
for mobile there is the official paid one
I looked for 'free' versions, but didn't find anything worth trying, there was one buggy one I found. From the screenshots it doesn't offer anything more than I could get using a browser.
and frankly, why should tapatalk make money from YOUR forum for software you give away freely?

It is evident that you don't have any personal experience with this app. You can look at user reviews on Google Play on which devices is Tapatalk running. I just copy the devices from the first page:obelisk wrote:please do NOT add it. I looked at the preview but see NO benefit in it at all. Re: Tapatalk
Tapatalk plugin installation only takes a few minutes. Give a chance to Tapatalk addicted users for some time and then you will see if there will be more pros than cons and you will see if your forum will benefit from this changexnview wrote:You don't know another plugin for mobile?

Re: Tapatalk
I get a popup every single time I visit enabled forums.
I don't care if there are good reviews. There are good reviews for everything out there. My arguments are the same:
1) Modern phones display forums perfectly fine in their browsers. We are not in the age of 320x240 screens anymore.
2) It is not right that for a great software like XnView, the only people making money off it will be these people with the annoying app?
Speaking of the first few reviews on google play, here are excerpts:
Brian : ... Does crash a lot though...
Robert : Works great, but... Some sites still don't format properly ... Many vBulletin operators are ignorant of the plugin, others don't wish to lose ad revenue.
Samuel : does not have about half the forums I use ... if they made it so it could access ANY forum ...
Ash : keeps force closing seems to only happen with big posts that contain different fonts, submitted multiple bug reports, no information back yet about the status of this bug...
Corey : ... would be nice to have working GIFs
Robert : ... Have had one error in the past where it cross posted a response between forums...
bornagainpenguin : I keep getting threads in my participation section that direct me to pages that don't exist. Ex sending me to page 19 of a thread which only has 17 pages. Another issue is not remembering that I've read all the posts in a thread. Also, I paid for the app stop harassing me for reviews until you fix your app.
Todd : DO NOT BUY UNTIL FIXED It will crash when loading a thread with a few pictures...
Dynamo Nath : Nice app and layout but struggles to load large discussion threads. If it loads them at all. A shame as this renders a potential good app fairly useless.
Yep of the first dozen or so reviews each one had some negative comment within except for 2 posts.

vBulletin and Vanilla seems the best forum system. Do you have a feedback about these 2 systems?
