I just converted a bunch of JPGs to PNGs and when I opened a PNG file in Photoshop 2022 I noticed that my color mode had been converted from RGB to Indexed. I looked at the actions panel and had changed the color depth from 8bits to 16. I also checked the options in the Actions panel but could not find anything to change the color from RGB to Indexed. There is also nothing, that I could see anyway, in the Output panel that would do that. Does anyone have any ideas on what I've done or could change.
Thanks

Re: Changed color mode when converting from jpg to png
just realized that if you convert an 8 bit file to 16 bits you also automatically change the color from RGB to Indexed. Best thing to do is just leave the file as 8 bits and convert to 16 bits in Photoshop. If you convert to 16 bits in XnConvert your new Indexed color will be changed. Sometimes the color changes subtly other times quite dramatically
