Crop image by alpha

Hi, is there any way to crop an image by its alpha? I have several images that have excess border through their alpha, and I want to crop all of that out. Another post said just use the color black... but not sure what that means and it doesn't work.

And these particular pictures don't have alpha, but the real ones do.
