I have tried multiple parameters with nconvert and eve n tried XnConvert. The files convert to PDF and are readable in Acrobat Reader but when I try to edit the PDF in Acrobat Pro DC I get an error: Bad font or font descriptor.
These MAG files are just multi-page embedded scanned images. There is not text inside these documents.

You might try an [older/newer if there is one] version of NConvert from Old versions while waiting for a possible response from Pierre...CliffWilliams wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2019 3:01 pm I have tried multiple parameters with nconvert and eve n tried XnConvert. The PDF file Properties > Fonts in image PDF files created by XnView software did until recently list several standard fonts, even though the file was an image PDF, just wondering if that could conceivably be relevant??
Otherwise, you wish to edit pure image PDFs in some way but Acrobat won't let you?
