PDF to TIFF

Post by opiate »

Hi,

Completely new noob user here! Hi! :P

xnConvert was suggested to be by a colleague to change PDF's to TIFF for an archive project we're working on, I have it installed now and must not be setting it up right. I've chosen the PDF as the input, and TIFF as the output, then getting the error message that "it is not picture".

So really not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Can't use Adobe to save as TIFF as these are really big research posters we're saving so Adobe keeps telling me it's too large to output. :(

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Please and thanks!

Do you have Ghostscript installed, x32 or x64 to match the version of XnConvert you've installed?

http://www.ghostscript.com/download/gsdnld.html

If your PDF files are multi-page, note that the Preview function on the Actions tab will only display the first page.

If you can't save the resulting TIFFs in Adobe, I'm not sure how well XnConvert will cope, but it's worth a try! :)

Edit:

If you are to, install XnConvert 64-bit for a better chance.

Are the images in the PDFs colour, grayscale or black and white? Uncompressed TIFFs can be enormous, but using the most appropriate compression method for the colour mode can reduce file size considerably.
