Setup "repairs C++2008"?

Post by Peter2 »

I installed new XnConvert-win-x64.exe over an existing 1.55-version, and it tries to repair C++2008:

Bug or Feature?

Some new information:

Installing XnConvert_x64 to C:\Program Files and accepting the offer to repair Visual C** 2008 installs the following files to the root of my D:\ drive ...

File list:
D-drive_File_list.png
Unexpected?

Edit:

The setup file was run from my desktop which is on my D:\ drive, but XnConvert_x32 installs normally from the same location.

I know this from many other PCs; it seems to be an issue of C** and not of XnView. And I do believe it is not the installation, it is a not deleted unpacked installation package. I think you can delete it.

A Microsoft issue?

But why for XnConvert_x64 and not for XnViewMP_x64 ?
