Script not correctly loading font in "text" tool

Post by bouscram »

I have found a small problem with the font I want to use in the "text" tool :
- I can select and use it correctly in the tool itself
- If I save the script using it, after restarting XnConvert and reloading the script, the font is not selected (the first in the list is selected instead)

I witnessed the problem only with very few fonts (for instance the "Museo" font family freely available from http://exljbris.com/ and some others from the same foundry).
In the font list in XnConvert, I only see "Museo" (I have three weights : Museo 300, 500 and 700), and the font used is Museo 300.

My configuration : XnConvert 1.10 ; Mac OS X 10.6.8

Yes. I have also the problem with other fonts. I remember Chrylser Electric (https://www.chank.com/shop/detail/4/fon ... _electric/), but I didn't try with every font I have... ;-)

I'll update if I remember another.

[edit] : same problem with Fontin (http://www.exljbris.com/fontin.html)

I don't think so.

These 3 fonts are "activated" with Linotype Font Explorer X, so I thought it could be the source of the problem, even if I have many fonts activated this way for which there is no problem. So I copied "Museo 300" in ~/Library/Fonts (and deactivated the original copy), but it doesn't change anything.

I searched the logs to see if there was a message which could give a direction, but there is nothing. Maybe you could add some traces so that I can look at what's happening.

In my tests, I also saw that if I put a wrong name in the .xbs file, "Helvetica" is used (I guess it is a default if the font isn't found), so what happens here is really different.

To be sure it wasn't something on my Mac, I did a test with Museo 300 on a newly installed Lion on another machine, and I have exactly the same behaviour: when I open a saved script, the first font in the font list is selected instead of Museo.

I'll test it tonight and keep you informed
[Edit] : the result is the same. I have tried with the Type 1 and OTF versions of the font
