When new file is opened, several older files appear [Fixed]
I use XnView MP because of its session saving. I really need this feature and I think it is the only software that offers it. I just have one weird problem and I don't know if it's a bug or a feature that I should disable. I'll try to describe it. Say that I open a saved session of 3 pictures from 3 different folders. Let's say they are the first picture in their folder. Then I browse the next pictures in these folders. After a while I need to work with a new picture from a different folder. When the new picture appears, all the original pictures (first in their folder) of the saved session open too. So instead of four pictures, I now have seven tabs open. And because I usually work with many tabs, this gets very confusing. Am I doing something wrong? I really would appreciate your help.
Re: When a new file is opened, several older files appear to
really strange, could you send me your xnview.ini? On windows? How do you open the fourth picture file?
Pierre.
Re: When a new file is opened, several older files appear to
Yes, Windows 10. I double click the picture inside its folder.

Re: When a new file is opened, several older files appear to
I am afraid I don't have the technical knowledge for what you are asking. I" ll try to give a detailed description.
I open a saved session with 3 tabs.
Tab1 -> Picture 01 from Folder A
Tab2 -> Picture 01 from folder B
Tab 3-> Picture 01 from folder C.
I browse the pictures of the folders A and B by pressing "Next file", so now the open tabs are:
Tab1 -> Picture 20 from Folder A
Tab2 -> Picture 20 from folder B
Tab 3-> Picture 01 from folder C.
Now I open a new picture from a folder D. The tab with the new picture opens, but at the same time two new tabs open with picture 01 from Folder A and picture 01 from Folder B, from what I understand these are the saved tabs from the folders that I subsequently browsed. Picture 01 from Folder C, which I didn't browse, didn't reappear. So now the following tabs are open:
Tab1 -> Picture 20 from Folder A
Tab2 -> Picture 20 from folder B
Tab 3-> Picture 01 from folder C
Tab 4 -> Picture 01 from Folder A
Tab 5-> Picture 01 from Folder B
Tab 6 -> Picture 01 from Folder D
That happens everytime a new tab opens. Imagine the chaos when I work with 20 tabs. I find it unlikely that it is a setting, but if it is, plase tell me which.And if I can help in any other way, please ask me.

Pierre.
Re: When a new file is opened, several older files appear to
Ok, I"ll do. I didn't undestand the last part. Rename the .ini? When (before I send it or after) and to what?
Re: When a new file is opened, several older files appear to
I think Pierre is asking you to send him the existing xnview.ini file and to then rename that file on your computer which I think will result in a new, clean .ini file being created...yanpol wrote:I didn't undestand the last part. Rename the .ini? When (before I send it or after) and to what?
Re: When a new file is opened, several older files appear to
I tried to send you the .ini attached to this post but I got the message "The extension ini is not allowed." In what other way can I send it?
Re: When a new file is opened, several older files appear to
Please upload your INI as an archive (ZIP, RAR, 7-Zip).yanpol wrote:I tried to send you the .ini attached to this post but I got the message "The extension ini is not allowed." In what other way can I send it?

By double clicking the picture file, inside its windows explorer folder.
