Hello again,
1.) In current MP 0.38.5, when I draw a selection on a picture and press 'DEL' just to remove that part of the image like in xnview win, this does not happen but instead the 'Delete' dialog appears. Would the old behavious of 'DEL' key for removing a selection of an image (while selection is drawn) come back? Might it make a return?
2.) Right, in same MP, why is the filename displayed in this dialog?
=Currently, like the screenshot, the English needs small correcting to say "Are you sure you want to"
=Is this displaying of the whole filename appropriate even if there is truncation. What about long filenames (really long sometimes)?
=It would be simpler if it just said "Are you sure you want to delete this file"
=It would also be nicer if the viewer tab (of the file being deleted) did an intermittent flashing display
2x feedback on "Delete items" in viewer

Hello !
• Just a couple of asides…
1. IMHO, it's not so bad to display the name of the file to delete.
- Maybe could it be shown in the title-bar, in order to shorten the string ?
2. In any case, I hate the “Are you sure…”; indeed, s¦he is sure, despite doing a pretty stupidity ! “…sure” is only a feeling. It's much better to use a string i.e. like “Do you want really…” which expresses a will. Such a detail could lead the Author in Court, and makes the difference…

Ok,
1.) maybe yes if the filename only (not the full file path) was shown in the title bar (with trunucation for long filename) then this would be fine. Just showing of filename in the dialog window, the current method, doesn't look so tidy.
2.) "Do you want to really" ---- Ok, Clo, yeah, this is fine PLUS I still like my other idea of intermittent flashing viewer tab of file deleted.

So, only the filename???
And "Do you really want to delete..." instead of "Are you sure to delete..."??

Re: 2x feedback on "Delete items" in viewer
Well Clo,
Actually Windows apps seem to follow the standard of writing the operation as "Are you sure you want to", according to my brief tests:
So I think it should be kept as "Are you sure you want to Delete?"
If you insist on keeping the filename then what do you say to a cursor box method similar to that found in "File's Icon" feature of XnShell ext: ..so cursor would be used by user to reval the rest of filename insteadof word-wrapping in the box and also this cursor box (at least) seems to better accommodate the notion of deleting multiple files since the window name does say "Delete files" OR just no filename at all more simpler. I'lle await more discussion and an outcome.

Pierre do you wish for the filename to display as it is? What about in the instances of long filenames.xnview wrote:So, only the filename???

My final concern on this topic is the matter of long filenames. How would long filenames display in this dialog? Any filename truncation?
