Post by mahikeulbody »

p.s. I'm using "Ubuntu Classic desktop - no effects", not Unity.

I checked : XnViewMP crashes also under 'classic' desktop.

I deleted the .xnviewmp folder and I tried again : it still crashes.

I deleted the .xnviewmp folder and I reinstalled xnviewmp (i.e. a clean install) and I tried again : no more crashes !

Then I replaced the new created .xnviewmp folder by the one I was using when the crashes started : no more crashes !

So it seems that the program folder was corrupt but it is a strange coincidence since the crashes began exactly when I upgraded to Natty beta 1...

Right now I am not able to reproduce the crash anymore after all the opérations I described into my previous post.
But my first post includes the output of a xnview.sh launched into a terminal.

To resume the whole history :

with Ubuntu 10.10 xnviewmp ran well

one day, I upgraded to Ubuntu 11.04 (beta) and immediately xnviewmp started to crash (without reinstalling it)

same problem with Ubuntu 11.04 release

then I made the operations described into my post dated of Mer Mai 04, 2011 5:24 pm.

Indeed, no more crash now. So I think the issue can be closed, even if it is a little bit strange.

Thanks for the nice work !
