**** In this new test version 1.5.0 beta 1 various bugs have been fixed. All reported bugs that aren't listed in the changelog below will be fixed in a later release. Please do not re-report a bug which wasn't fixed yet.

XnView 1.5.0 beta 1 is available for beta testing. You can download XnView MP 1.5.0 beta 1 here:

The new picture comparison tool ist fantastic!

I have a big problem. I could not start the program. It directly crashed.
I do not have admin rights and start it on a windows 10 64bit (Version 10.0.19044.2965).

Later I will test it again on another computer with latest updates.

could you try to start it in an empty folder?

I decompressed your zip archiv to a fresh folder and xnviewmp beta directly crashed.
I do not know why.

I is a HP EliteDesk 800 G4 PC Mini Computer (Intel i5-8400T RAM 16GB SSD 240GB windows 10 enterprise update 21h2.
I do not have admin rights, but full read and write access to the XnviewMP folder and drive. I could start XnviewMP 1.45 without problems.

On my other computers (Intel i8700k, 16 GB, windows 10 64bit 22h2 with latest updates) everything is fine.

Here is the dump file from XnViewMP beta 1, which may give you the reason for the crash.

please remove from xnview.ini, the line with version=

I did not have a xnview.ini in the folder for my portable version, but XnviewMP found the xnview.ini file in my C:\Users\[username]\roaming\xnviewmp folder. I cleaned all files and now it works fine.
