WebP plugin updated

I just tried to use the "new" plugin webp.dll in the plugin zip file here:

http://www.xnview.com/en/xnview/#addons

It gave me a webp.dll dated from 2013 that did not work. I restored my old webp.dll dated from 2016, and it worked again. Maybe something is wrong with the plugins? Also,will WebP ever be supported without plugins? I tried that too, it didn't work.
