The AVIF panel has four options: Format, speed, min/max quant, min/max alpha quant.
I think you kind of forgot the actual target quant, the main and most important setting. It would be like not having quality on the JPEG export. The min/max are rather advanced settings most people won't need to touch, versus the quant, and for some reason the min/max default to 0/0 when they should both be 0/63.
Can you put target quant on there somewhere, so we can actually adjust the size/quality?
Secondary issue: When saving as AVIF, I get dire warnings that all metadata will be lost. AVIF supports the same exif, iptc, and xmp metadata, via both libavif and libheif, so I'm not sure why that's coming up or if it's just unnecessarily stripping data that could just be transferred over.

Re: AVIF settings panel unusable
I'll use now libheif to compress AVIF, and i don't see target quant as parameter.foxyshadis wrote: ↑Fri Sep 22, 2023 9:49 am The AVIF panel has four options: Format, speed, min/max quant, min/max alpha quant.
