Yes i tried to create new sub folder and move there and it still does not delete.

Even i create sub folder move file there and try to delete folder - it does not delete.

I noticed file has attribute "Read Only" set, perhaps this is what causing problem.

Not a problem for windows file explorer. I never even pay attention to read only tag as its really useless now days and ignored by anything but few select command line utilities.

Would be nice if XnView MP warns about read only attribute or ask "if you really sure you want to delete read-only file", not doing anything when you press yes, delete is a bit misleading.

Actually its a bug, XnView MP deletes folder that has read only attribute no problem if it has images inside of it. But if images are not inside a folder then it sometimes can't delete folder with read only attribute from thumbnail view. As soon as i copy image inside folder XnView MP is able to delete the folder.

i've tried to delete:
- folder with no files with 'read only'
- folder with 'read only' with 1 file
- folder with 'read only' with 1 file with 'read only'
and it works each time

This is why i mentions it happen "sometimes", actually after i had this bug happen to me one i was not able to reproduce it again.

Edit: To reproduce the problem, need to create folder set read-only attribute place few images inside, then close the XnView MP

Next you navigate to that folder using Windows Explorer and double click the image to open XnView MP then inside XnViewMP switch to thumbnail view and navigate out of the folder. Then try to delete folder with XnViewMP and it will only delete images inside folder, (you can generate thumbnails again for that folder to see its empty now) but folder stay in place. Even if you close folder inside Windows Explorer will not be able to delete the folder from within XnViewMP.
