Cannot type accents in Caption field in Edit IPTC-IIM window

Hello,
I cannot type accents in Caption field in Edit IPTC-IIM window, they characters appear without accent.
If I write the Caption in a text editor and copy&paste, it works well. I seems that the limitation is when typing directly.
In Settings -> Metadata -> Encoding: I have all 3 options with UTF-8. Other combinations neither work.
I use XnView MP Linux Version 1.3 64bits (Sep 6 2022) on Ubuntu 22.04.

This issue has been around since v.0.93 and has never been fixed, I would also like to get this fixed!

It is strange, I tried on ubuntu 22.04. See this video:

To generate the accents I press the accent, release the key and press the vowel. Strange characters, like ç or ñ, with their own key work well. Perhaps the problem is because accents need two keystrokes.

ok right, with 2 keystrokes, accent doesn't work. It seems to be a problem with QT

It seems a problem with QT and Ubuntu, with Windows works well.
XnViewMP is a great tool, I use a lot of functions but I cannot add Captions to the photos.
Do you plan to solve this bug ?
