0.99.0 - thumbnail caching - high quality webp => thumbnails with bad quality [solved]

Post by masterjp »

Since the new new webp library version 1.2 there are quality problems with the thumbnail cache in browser view.
You will see it, if you use a big thumbnail size and compare it with the previews XnViewMP Version 0.98.4 (and older).
I use the high quality webp setting for thumbnail caching in settings.
To locate the problem, I tested jpeg compression in settings, too. It works normal and perfect.
In the previews version of XnViewMP 0.98.4 the high quality setting for thumbnail cache looks good!
The new webp compression quality is much lower and looks bad with big thumbnails.
Please increase the quality level to the old settings. Thank you.

I am sorry and I was wrong.

In the settings menu => thumbnail => 'Create from original image if embedded thumbnail is smaller' was disabled! :|

I do not know why, but that was the reason for the bad thumbnail quality.
