Pierre,
there is a problem with the screen capture function. I've had it happen several times using different versions of MP, but I'm unable to reproduce it. Even repeating the same thing doesn't produce the same effect.
This is what happens:
I use Ubuntu 16.04 (64-bit).
I have a web browser open showing something I would like to screen capture.
I open MP, select Capture... (settings Rectangle and F11). OK.
I return to the browser and hit F11.
The screen darkens, the magnifying glass appears. I select a first corner, then select a second corner.
Now in most of the cases, MP gets the focus back and shows the captured screen contents.
But sometimes (1 in 20), nothing happens instead. MP doesn't return to focus. And now the whole system is stalled. No way to change tasks, no way to interact with the system any more. You cannot do anything except for a hard reset.
I know this is a bit too little information for a bug report, but it's the best I can give. Any other users seeing the same?
Regards
Dietmar

What's standard on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS: Unity which is based on GNOME running on X Windows, if I'm not mistaken.xnview wrote:which window manager?

I can't reproduce either, as I wrote. It just happens from time to time. I will try using 'delay' the next time. I'm pretty busy right now, though, so I don't have time for rigid testing.xnview wrote:and with delay, do you have problem? I can't reproduce...

Pierre,
just to complete this bug report: There are no stalls if you select to capture the complete desktop as far as I could see.
