Do you use 'use recycle bin'?

I have this with my version of Ubuntu 14.04. My files are on a file servicer, accessed with a file share. There is no recycle bin option. When I delete a file, I get asked to confirm and I say yes. The JPG in question disappears, but when I return to the folder, it is back again!

This bug does not appear anymore in v0.69 for Mac OS X. I noticed you change the filename with an additional timestamp in case the file is moved to trash can.

Exactly same issue on my 64bit Ubuntu 14.04 box.
I made sure the file to delete didn't exist in the trash and the icon/thumbnail disappeared after deletion. But after a refresh it appeared again - no file deleted at all.
The filename doesn't contain any space. And option "settings>File operations>Use recycle bin" doesn't work either.
The XnViewMP version is 0.69 x64.
However, I find the deletion works as expected on another 12.04 Ubuntu box.

Just updated to v0.70 on Ubuntu 14.10.
Issue is still present. In my case I can detele any file from my user's home director, but not from another folder on the same partition but outside of my user folder. To be quiet clear, I can delete files in folder /home/monte/* but not from /home/Data/*
Folders itself have similar permissions, and no other program have problems accessing or deleting files there.
It seems that problem is connected to permissions or mounting option. More reports specificly from Linux: http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=29411

Sorry i totally missed this tread updates.
First, i updated to 0.70 - still same story.
Yes, i have recyclebin. Yes, i tried to uncheck "delete to recyclebin" in options. in either case no actual files is deleted. I tried various filesystems, tmpfs, ext4, vfat - its doesnt matter, still no deletion, no problems with rights too.
I use 64bit Xubuntu 14.04
Very strange case.
