Hello!
First recording of IPTC and XMP metadata in a single JPEG file request up to one second, which is quite satisfying.
Registration of IPTC and XMP metadata in several JPEG is also quite fast (# two files per second on my computer).
At the opposite, a new tag of a file (only a single) in the same directory needs between 3 et 60 seconds to record in file! (screen freeze of program, and sometimes XnView crashes).
Pierre si vous pouviez améliorer ceci ce serait sympa.
PS 1 Xnview MP 0.61 W7 64
PS2 Again thank's for continuous improvement of this nice and efficient program!

Re: Very slow tag (IPTC + XMP) of single file
Pierre,
Thank's for interest.
I tag all files of a directory (caption, copyright, keywords, localization).
After I tag some files (caption, keywords)
After I tag only one file (caption) and for that one, recording is always long (more than 3-5 seconds) or very very long (up to one minute when I am not in a hurry and close). Often 15 -30 seconds. Duration seems to depend of operations number before.
When I open Xnview and tag one file, it needs one or two seconds.
I hope this will help to find why !
Sincerly
Gérard

Re: Very slow tag (IPTC + XMP) of single file
Hi Pierre,
Last days I have continued to tagg few files without noticing slow speed !
This evening, I corrected 20-30 files (IPTC caption ) in 140 files directory. I do notice some slowdown (2-3 seconds to write) but only for the last files.
I know it's not very helpfull!
Sincerly

Yes,
Long delay seems to be noticeable after many tags of files in the same directory (using same tag for several pictures , correcting the tag for few one et finishing by precisions (small changes) in a single caption field or/and Key word (in "IPTC-IIM updating/creating XMP" mode).

Re: Very slow tag (IPTC + XMP) of single file
At the moment I tag only few files and don't notice a significant slowness.
Next weeks and in November I'll have (I hope so!) thousands pictures (about a hundred per directory) to tag so it 'll probably happen again. If I notice something, independently try to note precisely how it occurs, what the best to do ? To save copy of two db ? Save a copy of .ini ?
Any way I won't be able to tell about before half November.
Kind regards
By the way Pierre do you intend one day (not to far)to implement if not too complicated the improvement I suggested herehttp://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=28791 It w'll help me to know
