No Location field in XMP

Post by afatac »

In XnView MP, I added data in Sublocation field in Edit IPTC/XMP window. I notice that it only appears in IPTC and not XMP.

This causes a problem when the image is imported to other image application software that can only read the XMP Location field and not IPTC Sublocation field.

XnView 1.98 does not have this problem.

The IPTC/XMP info in this picture was first entered using XnView 1.98, then edited using XnView MP 0.38.2.

Notice that the XMP field photoshop > Location is not updated to new edited data as in iptc4xmpCore > Location.

The issue reported previously is fixed in version 0.38.4, but new issue is discovered.

After entering the data in the Location field using XnView MP 0.38.4, I cropped and saved the image within XnView MP.

When I opened this cropped image in Photoshop CS2, an error message was shown.

After opening the image, I checked the File Info in Photoshop. Data in Location field was gone.
