[0.35] Crash when opening folders with doc/xls files

Post by aeonmyst »

The error says
"The instruction at "0x00.." referenced at memory at "0x00.." the memory cannot be read

- It shows up when i'm opening a specific folder
Lately, the number of folders that shows this error have been increasing.

- The error also shows up when I am categorizing large number of images.

- This error shows up when viewing some categories.

I've tried disabling thumbnails, setting a maximum size, setting thumbnails to lossy
cleaning thumbnails, truncating the Datas table, optimize thumbnails

I have a large number of images(40k+) which are tagged with multiple categories, and also a large collection of categories
The structure of the folder is
folder 1/image 1.jpg
folder 1/image 2.jpg
...
folder 160/image 1.jpg

btw, some files have chinese characters... but most folders where I experienced crashing only have alphanumeric filenames

How can I solve this problem? Can I convert to classic XnView?
edit: this problem has been partially solved. i moved all non-image files into another folder.
the new bug is that xnview crashes when opening directories with non-image files.

edit:
another set of bugs
- sometimes I use ctrl+a to categorize all images in the folder using the checkboxes, but when I recheck, some pictures at the bottom of the browser are not categorized.
my current workaround is to ctrl+a->right-click->categorize, which does all images in that folder.
- sometimes the categories and categorization get lost, but restarting the computer/xnview can solve the problem
