I cannot recreate problem in v.0.31. Miniatures are seen.

I'm having trouble understanding what this setting (Create thumbnails for whole folder) does
Am I correct that XnView generates thumbnails...
Am I correct that XnView generates thumbnails...
- [Deactivated] ... only for those files that are currently visible in the browser's viewport.
[ Activated ] ... for all files in the in the current folder, regardless of scroll position.

Yes, perhaps we must choose a better label?XnTriq wrote:I'm having trouble understanding what this setting (Create thumbnails for whole folder) does

Terms like “lazy loading” (or “lazy initialization”) are too technical. In the changelog for beta 0.30, you called it Create thumbnails on the fly, but Create thumbnails for whole folder (or maybe Always create all thumbnails for current folder?) isn't misleading either. Moi didn't get it at first, because (a) I'm not exactly the brightest star in the sky and (b) I simply didn't expect MP to have more features (besides Unicode support) than XnView “Classic” at this stage.xnview wrote:Yes, perhaps we must choose a better label?
I may not view lots of multi-megapixel photos like the majority of users do, but nonetheless “experimental thumbnail create on the fly” / “thumbnail creation follows position of slide” are big improvements to me.xnview (XnView Multi Platform - alpha 0.001) wrote:My first goal is to have the same features as current "XnView for *nix" with some features of XnView win 1.92
Come on, Pierre, don't be so modest all the time! In the next changelog you should make it bold like “JPEG code use SIMD instructions”
