sub-categories to IPTC/XMP
Subcategories are not copied to IPTC/XMP keywords consistently.
I have the option set to "export DB Category to XMP/IPTC keyword" but sometimes only the upper level category is written to XMP/IPTC.
running Win.XP and XnViewMP v0.26.1 beta

Re: sub-categories to IPTC/XMP
I can't consistently recreate the bug. It's happened several times but not every time.
It seems to be related to writing more than one keyword to IPTC at the same time when setting multiple categories but I can't get it to happen consistently.
I'll submit more information when I figure out more.

Is this categories to IPTC/XMP going to be ported to the non MP version?

Re: sub-categories to IPTC/XMP
I am almost constantly getting this bug, I can get the option "automatically apply parent keywords" to always work
but with the option "export DB Category to XMP subject and IPTC keyword" I get intermitant results for sub categories, sometimes they are applied to keywords other times not?
this feature would be very usefull to me
I am using Win 7 x64 , XnView MP 0.35

Re: sub-categories to IPTC/XMP
I did notice that when I briefly re enabled "import XMP subject or IPTC keywords to DB categories" things seemed to be working,, but I removed a few categories that got imported and then decided to disable to importing of xmp/ keywords adn things seemed strange again..
i need to do some more testing.. is the category Other a standard category>?

Re: sub-categories to IPTC/XMP
Hi Pierre
I have no idea why,
I can not apply the categories to keywords/xmp subject to lots of jpgs ,
mostly I can rely on it just adding the main keyword and nothing from the sub categories.
thanks

When you click on a categorie, nothing is written in XMP metadata?knightdj wrote: I can not apply the categories to keywords/xmp subject to lots of jpgs ,

no when I tick a category nothing seems to happen to the xmp or iptc, I have tried a number of programs including exiftool to confirm this ?

The changes are written when you change the selection. Same thing?knightdj wrote:no when I tick a category nothing seems to happen to the xmp or iptc, I have tried a number of programs including exiftool to confirm this ?xnview wrote:When you click on a categorie, nothing is written in XMP metadata?knightdj wrote: I can not apply the categories to keywords/xmp subject to lots of jpgs ,
