v0.12 Win32 (minor): Preview image disappears

Post by JohnFredC »

Nearly every action in the MP browser will remove the preview image from the Preview panel.

If a file is selected in the file list panel, the preview image should persist until the next file is selected (or the current file deleted), no matter whatever else the user does in XnView.

  • After closing the Options dialog.

    After "Show files in subfolders"

After navigating anywhere with one of the navigators (Folder tree, etc).

For my use, the preview (and by implication, the selected file) should be retained/preserved until I explicitly select another image. The reason is that I frequently want to navigate from folder to folder looking though the thumbs for an appropriate copy/move destination for the selected image.

Other users' opinions may differ. Perhaps someone else will express an opinion?

BTW, this issue applies to XnView 1.9x also.

Also in 0.20, simply when I press Enter (or double-click) twice to go fullscreen and back to browser.

Same here with MP linux version 0.20, but only when I press the "middle mouse click" and go back to browser with an other "middle mouse click"

This is normal, because I'm using left double click to toggle fullscreen and middle click to switch between browser and view mode.

I cannot confirm... just tested with the Options dialog. Preview image was removed when dialog closed.
