XnViewMP 1.8.3 64bit
Windows11 (24H2), display resolution 3840x2160, win scaling 150%

Browser - thumbnails - appearance
thumbnail's Border size setting affects padding, not border size, which is inconvenient

Suggestion

  • add Label group
  • fix Border size setting
    - rework Border size to increase border size instead of Padding
    - add Padding size setting
  • add Rounded border functionality (see FastStone example)

same as A, plus
  • split 'Thumbnail cell' group into
    • Cell
      • move Border and Spacing settings here
    • Cell background
      • add 'Use color from' [Rating, Color label, Format] (see Lightroom example)
      • rename Background → Base color

        so the cases are:
        ☐☐ - use filelist bg color
        ☑☐ - use rating/label/format color, if not available - use filelist bg color
        ☐☑ - use base bg color - same as current state
        ☑☑ - use rating/label/format color, if not available - use base color
      • add Opacity
