Hello,
I am a big fan of the "compare" function, which is an easy and very useful means to compare 2, 3 or 4 photos.
However, there is an issue (bug?) when 3 or 4 large photos are compared zoomed at 100%: if one of them is removed (closed or deleted), the system automatically reorganizes the space to display the 2 or 3 remaining ones, kept at the same zoom level, which is great, BUT the center of the frame of each image is not kept, i.e. the image is shifted in some way. Thus, if the main subject is small, it can disappear and it is not easy to find again it.
So I have 2 suggestions to improve this function
1) the reorganization of space following the removal of an image should maintain the frame of each remaining image centered on the point on which it was previously centered (unless the image is smaller than the frame)
2) add an optional "pan tool" (as in normal viewing when images larger than the frame are zoomed in), which thus would allow for an easy way to center the frame on the main subject

About 2): Perhaps I don't understand something but you can pan all the images using the left mouse button. Click and drag. To pan only one image, use the right mouse button in the same way.

Indeed, you can (and I do) pan with the left mouse button. The point is 'where is the main subject' ?
Just an example. I took 3 photos of a bird in flight against the blue sky background. But the bird is small or far away, so that it takes only a small part of image and usually is not at the centre on the image and its exact location changes across the 3 images. To compare the 3 images (to keep only the best one), I use the compare tool, with a 100% zoom (got with the * key). The issue is that in some or all images i can first only see the blue sky. So, I have then for each photo independently, to pan in blind condition (with the left mouse button) to re-find the bird, which quite be quite long. And when I delete one of the 3 images, the space reorganisation with the 2 remaining ones leads to a change of of the central point, so that I have again to pan in blind condition to find the bird. This is why both keeping the frames of the remaining images centred after 1 image removing as they were just before (point 1) and adding an 'insert panning window' within each frame to show the whole image (point 2) would be very useful.
