Default and locked settings

Post by klementin »

Hello!
Shouldn't it be possible to set default settings, with the option to lock them for users?

The reason is that if you want to distribute this in a corporate environment, you wouldn't want users to be able to change settings, such as check for updates, for example.

Hi!
I understand your thinking, but we still want users to be able to change certain settings in the program, but not things like themes and updates (as an example).

Hi!
This is what I can think of right now:

[Locked] Tools -> Settings -> General -> Check for program updates: Never
[Disable/Remove] Help -> Registration
[Disable/Remove] Help -> Purchase
[Disable/Remove] Help -> Make a donation
[Disable/Remove] Help -> Check for update

And to make a default settings file for the all users. Let's say "%programfiles%\XnViewMP\xnview_default.ini" in the program catalog, which is then merged with the userssettings in "%appdata%\XnViewMP\xnview.ini". We are thinking on buying this program into our corporate Citrix desktop environment.
