Combined ascending/descending sort options

My previous image viewer had sort options that don't require selecting sort direction (ascending, descending) after selecting sort type. The ascending types are at the top of the list and the descending types are at the bottom of the list displayed in parentheses. For example:

Name
Extension
Date
Image Size
(Name)
(Extension)
(Date)
(Image Size)

Please consider implementing this as it requires half as many clicks as the current method.

CURRENT METHOD:
click to open menu
click to select type
click to re-open menu
click to select order

ALTERNATIVE METHOD:
click to open menu
click to select type and order
