images that have been removed

Post by jamesleydox »

Hello,
After moving a very large number of images on xnview MP 0.92 the software crashed.
After the crash the half of the images that was supposed to be moving disappeared.
How do I get them back?

thank you in advance

In 99.9% of cases, this isn't a problem with XnView MP (or any other „normal” program) because OSs file system guarantees that the file will not „vanish” or gets „corrupted” whatever it happens. There is a quite thick isolation layer between the programs and file system.

Most probably you have a problem with your storage (HDD / SSD). On what platform are you?

...to add to above:

It doesn't matter how many files are transferred. From where did you transfer? - from a memory card?

You can use Piriform's Recuva to try to get back your files.
