Automatically hide the side panels

Post by LorenzoF85 »

Good morning,
I'm new, sorry for my incorrect english.
I would like to suggest in the catalog view, to find the way to automatically hide the side panels as for tabs in fullscreen mode.
This would greatly facilitate the usability of the application for those with small screens.
Thank you
Lorenzo

Perhaps I don't understand correctly what you mean, but:

A. If you really mean FullScreen mode then press F11 to enable it and then you will have only the photo on the full screen (from here the name of the feature) and on top (strip of thumbs) and right (info panels) you will have some auto-hide panels. Move the mouse in that direction to show the panels. Be sure to have checked "Floating views" in Tools | Settings | Fullscreen

B. If you want to achieve approximately the same effect in the main form, then

1. right click on the main Toolbar choose "Customize".
2. In the dialog which appears from the list on left select "Thumbnails view only" (you need to scroll to letter "T"). Press the ">" button to move your selection in the list from the right.
3. Press "Ok" to close the dialog

Now you should have a new button at the end of your toolbar. Press it. All the panels will hide/show when you press it. You can assign also a shortcut to this command.

To Pierre: Why we don't have such this command in the View menu?
