Hi,
The only functionalities I miss in the "import and sort" dialog are:
- FILE PICKER, showing the thumbnails of images in order you can choose just those you do want to import.
- DELETE IMPORTED ITEMS, having a checkbox you may choose if you don't need the media in the source anymore.
It follows below a snapshot of the Windows 10 Photo app, which has both functionalities. I saw it in ACDSee too.
Thanks for considering it.

"delete imported items"
In the following thread there are arguments for not providing option for delete after importing, since some problem can happen in destine, and if files where also deleted from source, then a mess is settled. So if the user wants, after importing, just format the card.

What do XnView users think about it?
"file picker"
This is still a must have feature IMO
