Thumbnails for Audio Files

Post by m.Th. »

While digging in XnViewMP I saw that we do NOT provide a "Show as Thumbnail" button for Audio Files. Why'z that?? :)

The code is rather simple: See here:

https://github.com/nzaillian/WaveformWidget (You have a ready-made widget which you can use)

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1396 ... qbytearray (some Qt code)

Other considerations:

http://supermegaultragroovy.com/2009/10 ... waveforms/
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1101 ... audio-file
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1287 ... -file?lq=1

If we'll implement this we're heading to a full-blown multimedia manager...

Thanks all!

My vote goes for the "Real-life waveform from vinyl records" :D

However, Comparisonics looks quite interesting and definitely worth to keep an eye upon them. I'm thinking to use their engine in XnView to search for sounds...

OTOH, IMHO the waveform code will be used for much more than aesthetic thing. See here: http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=29541
