Hi,
I'd love to have more than just one instance of XnViewMP 0.61 at a time on the screen, to compare photos.
Can I achieve this by any program settings?

UNcheck 'One instance of program only'
...however for comparing images perhaps is better to use the dedicated tool from Tools | Compare...
You need to select 2-4 images in order to work. There are some options in the Compare window as well as sync zoom/pan. Explore them.

Hi,

This was the first thing I looked for - it is unchecked. In spite of this, XnView shows me the different images in tabs, which I can't position side by side.
In my Notebook, where Windows7 is installed everything works like I wish.
I will try the Compare-Tool, Thank you.

This is how to open multiple instances of XnViewMp on Mac. From a Terminal command line:
open -n /Applications/XnViewMP.app/
open -n /Applications/XnViewMP.app/
