We have many threads about almost same thing:
Reload open files at startup
"sessions" of opened tabs
Save/Open Picture Set
So which feature will be the best?
* If when you close XnView there is some opened tabs, ask to save "session", and open it next time
* Be able to load/save list of files as opened tabs
Restore last opened files...

Re: Restore last opened files...
Hi Pierre
There is no "best" option to select from those three. Each one addresses a different need IMO and each one would enhance XnView. I would use all of them at one time or another.
However, there is so much overlap between the three, I think of them as one function with options. A single implementation approach (text file list of image filenames with an optional line for browser visibility and folder) would be a good start.
After the text file list support has been implemented, perhaps some optional things such as layout, zoom status, etc. could be optionally included.
An important part for me is that the file XnView uses to store/retrieve the list of images be a simple format consisting of a list of filenames that could also be generated by a 3rd party file manager or other program.
As always, thanks for listening!

Re: Restore last opened files...
Salut,

Re: Restore last opened files...
This feature would be really useful (as option) for a future XnView MP
I am starting to require it more.

Here is what I further suggest:

Here is what I further suggest:
- I think we could have an "Auto save/load" session of tabs, last focused tab in tab list, zoom level of viewed picture and program window size&position - could all be saved in a 'session'.
- If a file is no longer available within the 'session' (i.e. deleted from computer) then it would simply just not open to anything - simple.
- A 'session' file should be text-based like a .ini file.
- Drag & drop support of session files - to be able to drop them on the view mode interface and let them load up.
- All Session .ini files should be default saved in a sub-folder "xnview sessions" to be located either in user AppData or program folder depending on user's choice.
- A 'Sessions manager' dialog window could exist which would function much the same as a 'Recent files' menu plus able to multi-manage other sessions worked with.
