hello,
This topic of request is related to this earlier topic; http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=19643
You see, currently when I close the Browser tab it means the whole program will exit too
1. So it would be nice to be able to close the Browser without it making XnMP exit and just close it to an empty window. So a tickbox setting named like "Closing the Browser tab exits XnView" - would be great.
2. Secondly, on an empty window, would anyone agree on an optional 'program choice' centre display like in Foxit Reader:
Some other apps also have it too. In XnMP, on an empty window, it could show 2 program choices; "Open a file" and "Go to Browser"
A tickbox setting to be able to disable this display would also be nice (perhaps it should be enabled by default for first time users).

I also agree. In most tools this behaviour is the standard.
There could be just the empty window, or a overview (favorites, categories, some statistics, news, links to forum, wizards, buttons, quick options or such stuff)

Yes Vommie there could be an overview in the centre of the screen as just what is depicted on Foxit;
There should also be the option to disable the 'overview' of choices for a fully blank window

I like this plan... but I'd want to configure the panel contents and behavior.
Specifically it would be great to choose "buttons" from the following groups:

- Recents: perhaps choosing from image files, folders, categories, or a combination of several open tabs (a "Project")
Favorites: same choices!
Actions: such as Import Clipboard, Acquire, Slideshow

Re: Requests: closing the 'Browser' tab + empty window
Thank you so much for (1) : with the new option, I can now disable and use this feature (it's ticked by default) Pierre added it to 0.30 guys (see picture):
Right, for feature (2) a 'program choice' centre display this feature could still be added in future as again an option in settings for when Xn MP window is empty.
