Rotate based on EXIF

Post by Hacker »

Hi,
Is it possible to use NConvert to rotate JPEGs (and their embedded thumbnails) based on their EXIF orientation flag (and then reset the flag, keep the timestamp and trim unused pixels - just like in the lossless rotate dialog)?

TIA

Is this command implemented yet? If so, what's the command line option for it?

No not yet implemented...

What kind of bounty would it take to see that implemented? I'd certainly throw in some money to see that happen. Or should I write a little python script or something that would decide which way to rotate based on exif data?

BTW, jhead.exe can do autorotate, so I place it in front nconvert in scripts.

This request is listed in the Global request and suggestion list, already. I also think that this is an important feature and recommend to implement this in the next release.

Hello!

Sorry to reply on a so old thread...
Just wanted to know if this has been implemented yet? I can't find this anywhere so I guess it hasn't, but we never know :)

Thanks!
