No, definitely not. A panorama image is a 180 or 360 view of image which you create from several image taken at a specific spot. There's special, really complex software for this.
XnView does not create panorama images, it simply attachs the image horizontally or vertically. Calling this functionality "Panorama image" would be some kind of lying.

Non-sense

• Hi !
- This has been changed too in French for the similar sentence, and that means nothing !
- "Attach images" Where ??? To what ??? Might be at least "Attach images together" or "Create a stripe of images", or even "Create a pseudo-panorama".
- The related dialogue-box has kept its previous old title, so it's rather inconsistent… :|

It was important to get away from the "Panorama image", which was really not correct.

Perhaps you're right - "Attach images" might be too unspecific. But perhaps it's not for native speakers. Let's leave it for a while and see what people think about it.

Later, we can still find better wordings e.g. "Align images horizontally/vertically".

Yes definitely yes, Panorama is different of a stripe of images, but this is not very known for the most home-users…and changing this suddently is confusing. Please, think to users who have not any national language in XnView, and who are bound to use English...
Please forget the "Attach images" and find a more explicit sentence like the one you proposed in your last post... or better "Join together images horizontally/vertically" ("Accoler" in french)

OK, I understand now. I thought it is wrong because in Slovak translation, in the main dialog has been term "Panorama"...

I don't like term "Align images horizontally/vertically" because user might think original images will be changed/removed...

I like Clo's "Create a stripe of images" - 'create' is important, or "Attach images together"...

So which is better?

"Attach images together" or "Attach images horizontally/vertically".

"Create a stripe of images" would be better, since it would be clear that original images will be unchanged, but it's not so 'nice' and I'm not sure if it is correct...

:) Hello !

- IMHO, "Create a stripe of images" is correct English. For short, could be too "Create an image-stripe" or so.

- "Attach" doesn't seem the best word here; according with the dictionaries, "Join" should be better. So : "Join images together" could do the trick too. And others…

"Join images together" - I like it but still a problem - users may suppose that original imges will be joint.
"Create a stripe of images" is correct English
OK, so 'I vote' for this, reasons above...

"Create image stripe..." would be a bit shorter. What do English native speakers think about this and the above expressions? Is "Attach images..." clear or not?

Native English speaker here. :)

I'm not sure about the word "stripe" "Create a stripe of images" may be grammatically correct, but that does not sound right to me, unless there are further submenu options: "vertical" and "horizontal." Or, create two menu options instead of one: "create a vertical stripe of images" and "create a horizontal stripe of images." Personally, I prefer "join images horizontally" and "join images vertically" instead of "attach images together horizontally" and "attach images together vertically."

Perhaps I am a bit confused about this particular menu function. Does this merge two or more images into one single image, like Microsoft Image Composer can do? Perhaps "group images horizontally" or "merge images horizontally" might be better. If that is not the correct function, and you cannot specify custom placement, it would be nice if XnView did have that function. Then I would no longer need Image Composer. :)

Phrases I prefer:
1. Join images...
2. Join images (panorama)...
3. Attach images...
4. Join images (panoramic)...
5. Create panorama (join images)...
Panorama could still be used and be appropriate. I have never thought of the word as an exclusive technical term.

:) Hello Chris !

- Nice idea! Thinking deeply to that important issue, finally I found out the best expression in French, and it could be proposed in English too in a poll :
Create a comic strip-like (image)” (Créer une bande dessinée). It's exactly that the function does, and that sounds logical, at least for a French-thinking brain :P

- For those who don't like "strip(e)", I can say that any strip(e) has not been drawn / painted for the beginning of Ages by the holy Ghost, but someone has done once…
