Steps:
1. Open XnView in Browser mode
2. Make sure that XnView's Preview video's in Browser options is OFF
3. Select a video file in Browser mode
4. Open XnView options
5. Move to Browser area and then Preview area
6. Don't alter anything just click "Ok"
7. XnView will now play the video in the preview pane
If I repeat the process a second time it doesn't happen
however a third time it does!
I just managed to lock XnView up trying this on a WMV file, funny as hell to watch too - thankfully I have Process Explorer loaded to save me

(win xp sp1, xnview 1.74)
Same here
Same little bug here with .mpg and .avi (I don't have other format to test, right now).
Step [5] is not necessary, as just selecting a video file, opening options and "OK" will start the preview of the video.

Another trigger is enabling\disabling "Use High Quality" produces the same bug as well.
Video plays in preview pane when disabled.
Another trigger is enabling "Show Tooltips" in Browser area (disabling doesn't do it though)
