Is it possible to batch rename across multiple folders?
I can't find anything relevant in the help or forum.
I would like to rename image files stored in multiple date sorted folders.

Currently to rename all img files I must select each folder at a time, select all images in the folder and batch rename.
I would like to select all folders, then select batch rename to process all image files in one action.
I've tried selecting multiple folders in the browser but batch rename does not respond.
Thanks

Re: Batch rename in multiple folders
One way: Use search function. Highlight results and press <F2> rename.ush285t wrote:Is it possible to batch rename across multiple folders?

I would like to reiterate this need.
Using the search function is too cumbersome and user unfriendly.
It should not be very difficult to implement given the facilities already in XnView.

A related suggestion is 'Unified way for creating file list'.
Glad to see that I am not the only one missing this feature. It is hard to be without when working with very large picture collections.
I have otherwise found XnView the very best tool of its kind for my purposes. I love to work with it because it is so much better to use than the tools I used before. I would hate to have to find another tools just for the purpose of batch renaming across folders.
Please add the item to your work list in the near future.

v.1.93.6 ß-2
This function is working when menu>tools>batch rename is chosen. Folder's contents are added to list.
However, when <F2> is pressed while in details view, only the folder names are added (and not its contents). This still remains.

Batch rename has also possible after using 'show files in subfolders'

To have the content, you must use 'tools/batch rename', <F2> is used to rename or batch rename folders (not content)marsh wrote:v.1.93.6 ß-2
