As an unrelated oddity I noticed that when I select the "root category", that small checkbox appears next to the icon and it doesn't seem to have any function so I think it's a bug.

[Fixed] Control + select doesn't select all sub categories
There's a bug in Control + select category feature. It only selects the first sub category of sub categories inside the selected category.
