"Tagged file list must be cleared" doesn't work!?

Post by Dreamer »

When I set this option to "On exit", or even to "Never", when I:

- tag few files
- exit dir
- enter the same dir
= files are NOT tagged :bug:

...OK, so it works with default settings, it must be some option (searching...).

Edit: I couldn't find that option, Pierre, I sent my ini to you, could you check it please?

Win XP, beta 1.

So you can reproduce it with my ini? Because it doesn't work with the test version you sent me. :?

Better in beta 2, but still not perfect...

- tag few files
- exit dir
- enter the same dir
= files are tagged (fixed in beta 2)
- go to other dir
- tag few files
- exit dir
- enter the first or second dir
= files are NOT tagged :bug:

Cache must be disabled to reproduce this bug.

And you are with 'on exit'?
I can't reproduce it

Really strange, are you using my ini?

Could anyone else try to reproduce it with cache enabled please?

Hmm.. so it doesn't work at all now!? :?

Edit: OK, so after xnview restart there are 2 files (from 2 folders) in Tag "category"!! And it's working again - and now it works perfect.

Edit2: So I can reproduce it only in one folder, in other folders it works good, but when I enter 'that' folder, tagged files are lost, when I restart xnview, they are all back. Very strange, it's nothing special on that folder, no special character in the name of folder or name.

Few screenshots (last after using "clear all tags"):

Hmm, I have no problems, here. But I haven't tried for long and I don't have the special dir that you have.

Try this:

- disable cache in xnview
- delete category.db
- run xnview
- switch to details view
- go to any folder with many files (200+)
- tag first file
- exit/enter current folder
= file is not tagged
- press F9 to switch to thumbnails view
= file IS tagged!

Confirmed. :bugconfirmed: When following your above instructions, the problem occurs: For some reason the tagging of the first file is no longer indicated with the red colour.

Good! Try also with thumbnails view only. You must tag the file while loading the files (in folder with more than 200 images), cache must be disabled and then just exit/enter the folder.

Another(?) bug - the same problem with categories. To reproduce use the same steps, just drag the file to any category instead of tagging.
