Yes, you can change the levels of undo by adding UndoCount in xnview.ini
Thanks Pierre, it's a great improvment.
(levels number under xnview.ini \ [View] \ UndoCount=12 (5 by default)).
But is it possible to always keep in memory the first image (the original one) even if the number of modifications is over the configuration Undocount= setting ?

I agree, very good suggestion.

BTW 5 is not enough IMO, what do you think?

Five for me…

Post by Clo »

 Dreamer

:) Hi !

• Five is enough for my own workflow because I seldom work with photos.
- But indeed for photographers that could be insufficient.
- Currently along the beta-test, the INI entry does the trick, but for the 1.92 final, I guess that a GUI option
(tick-box and field) is indispensable, plus naturally the Redo command as a button and short cut
- as a new couple of short cuts-

• Saving the original as soon as we apply a second change¦effect is secure, I support.
- This could be done automatically to a TEMP folder to define, or into a special database, Pierre knows the better in the case.

Yes, Five by default is enough for me too, in the general case !
And it's not realy a problem because it's very easy to increase the number of levels in the xnview.ini file by hand ( or maybe in a next future with a GUI option (box and field) ).

But the first image (the original one) must always stay in Tmp memory (as soon as we apply a first or more changes¦effects) even if the number of modifications is over the level in the xnview.ini file: Undocount= setting.

By this way, undo all changes always means : return to the first step (the original image).
