Freeware (Edit: NOT FREEWARE -Troken) for adjustments of images in PDFs, and a good complement to XnView.

Optimize PDF for printing
* Allows to sharpen images (smart sharpening) and more.
* Allows to downsample images to the same resolution.
* Allows full ICC conversion of images with rendering intent and black point compensation or using a Device Link Profile.
* Allows to save up to 20% ink on the print (optimizes CMYK profiles black generation).

Full ICC
* Converts all images to the same output profile.
* Displays images as they are printed (SoftProof on a calibrated monitor).
* Allows to use ICC Device Link Profiles (professional conversion).

Allows to correct images (on selected or every document images):
* Brightness
* Contrast
* Saturation
* Sharpening

Dammit! I hate that magazine that recommended this "free" software. It's not free, I know! Sorry if I fooled somebody. :?
