Artweaver is a software comparable to PhotoFiltre, but has the advantage of multi-layer design.
It's Freeware - current version is 0.3.9.1

The way to localize it isn't that good as it could be:

For English locale you have to download the program from the English (translated) location:

and additional the French language file:

Rename the downloaded file to Artweaver.lng and place it in Artweaver folder.

An update to version 0.3.9.2 for Artweaver is now available.

This version contains only bug fixes. The following bugs were fixed:

- Reduced resources consumption
- Option "Expand Palettes Automatically" added
- Group Layers can now be completely moved with contents
- Increased maximum supported picture dimension to 9999*9999 pixels
- Guides can now be dragged
- A new Plug-In: Slices. With this Plug-In, you can produce from guides, slices for the web
- Individual paper and nozzle materials can be deleted
- Brush Variants can be imported and exported (for sharing)

This program rocks! Freeware, its amazing! Ever tried Painter? This IS Painter, but free! It has lots of brushes and layers and even a plug-in for XnView. Current version is 0.4.1. A perfect complement to your graphic-editor.

The thing is, the developers has made a interface that is slightly better than Painters. This interface reminds of photoshops (but less complicated) so its really easy to get into.

• That programme seems great, but can anyone tell me what is this crappy LNG ?
- It is neither text, nor a DLL, though it's a binary file… and the French one is a nest of spelling mistakes and other errors…

• So, I get pimples on my nose, and then that prevents me to test peacefully

- Moreover, it's pretty dangerous for my old heart, I risk a heart crisis at any moment !

"First of all, you need the Artweaver SDK (you can get it here). You only need the component "Language Tools", which can be choosen in the setup program." That means you need that tool to correct or create a lng-file.

Clo, if its bad, why don't you contribute with some spelling corrections and make the french file a good one? I think Boris, the programmer, will be happy for help in making it better

• I could correct and complete the French language, but I don't wish to install and use such a “gasworks” !
- Artweaver is written in Delphi™, with which it's quite easy and convenient to use text for the languages !

• Why to use a so twisted way, getting finally an abstruse binary 1.3 MiB file ?
- From which all strings are not translated ? Where the key-names for the short cuts in the menus are not translated ?

• I'm a translator for several programmes, and all use plain text files !
- In example, the (3) Total Commander language files (French, the biggest ones) are 84.9 kiB !

- Paul “Ouistiti”-friend and I have made templates as text for XnView, we get a 135.1 kiB total size for French,
including the EXIF LNG which works already for a while…

• Don't wonder if there are a so few languages for this programme

• I would correct very well text-files (even UTF-8 ¦ UNICODE-16), but not using such a mess.
