There are a lot of good interface ideas in Bibble 5.
The user does not have to leave the browser to edit an image (an approach occasionally discussed in the forum for XnView).
Also, the metadata tree is very powerful for searching and subsetting images.
This video gives a decent overview.

Yes, i have asked about such UI, but it seems that users prefer browser+view...JohnFredC wrote: The user does not have to leave the browser to edit an image (an appoach occasionally discussed in the forum for XnView).
Which metadata fields are important to store in the DB? (For MP, i extract only IPTC but i can extract some EXIF fields too)Also, the metadata tree is very powerful for searching and subsetting images.

How about both implementations?xnview wrote: Yes, i have asked about such UI, but it seems that users prefer browser+view...
For me, there are two phases of metadata use:Which metadata fields are important to store in the DB? (For MP, i extract only IPTC but i can extract some EXIF fields too)
- 1. Immediately after capture when I am looking at the EXIF for things like ISO, shutter speed, camera, etc.
2. During file organization for post-production and archiving, when I need access to IPTC fields for various purposes.

Perhaps it's a good idea to start a topic for MP?JohnFredC wrote:How about both implementations?xnview wrote: Yes, i have asked about such UI, but it seems that users prefer browser+view...
Ok, so i'll add an option to extract all metadata info in DB (can be long)For me, there are two phases of metadata use:Which metadata fields are important to store in the DB? (For MP, i extract only IPTC but i can extract some EXIF fields too)
So... both EXIF and IPTC fields are important to me. It would be hard to select just a few. I use nearly all of the EXIF fields, for instance.

Yes, I understand. Perhaps you could implement something to let the users select the fields?xnview wrote:(can be long)
