Bad print

Post by w64bit »

PNG file with wrong output on print
Single - Best fit to page
Laser print, A4
Is it the file or the program at fault?
From Paint I can print.

The attachment is the file you are printing, or an image of the printer output?

Could you describe the problem in a little more detail, and ideally provide a test file and a description of the result when you print.

PNG is the original file (to be printed).
PDF attached in this message is the output on a PDF printer.

The XnView MP 1.7.2 print dialog Print > Preview... shows an extra fine line below the line of asterisks, then the 'Printed' to PDF file contains further errors, as you said.

I don't print much, but it does look like a bug in XnView MP unless someone can come up with another insight?

Edit:

I've just printed the page successfully on my laser printer (with the fine line at the lower part of the page, which I assume is actually part of the source image), so it looks as if your issue is maybe with the PDF printer software you used??

Any help?

Another edit: I see you are using XnView Classic, is that correct?

I use XnView Classic 2.51.6
Both print to pdf and to laser copier have the same wrong print/result.
I delete all but 2 pixels from the initial image.
The print contains extra pixels on the right.

Sorry about the confusion, I am normally in Linux so I can't easily test in XnView Classic.

Sadly the level of support available at the moment from both Pierre and other users is quite low, your best solution is probably to install XnView MP even if you only use it initially for printing... :D
