Bug with just a name

There is a single minor, but strange error

I had two jpg Pictures with that name as part of the picture: "Wrocław Water Tower"
Xnview could not handle the files. No show, no open, no external open.
I did open these files with external programs and changed the contens or the file type. --> xnview could not handle.
The I renamed the files to "Breslau_Water_Tower". Now everything worked fine as expected.
Wroclaw is a polish city. The german word for it is Breslau.
I am not shure, that the name is the reason. Maybe a combination.
The new files are now named "Breslau_Water_Tower c33_8.jpg" instead of "Wroclaw Water Tower c33_8.jpg" Wroclaw Water Tower c33_7.jpg. I startet with renaming the last letters. That did not help. Wroclaw Water Tower c33_9.jpg
Maybe it is a combination of different letters.
I cannot reproduce it anymore, althought I saw it these morning in different folders, where i worked on them.
